Hudson and Rex S07E07
I don't want to say that I'm ready for this season to be over because there might not be another season, but I also don't not want to say that.
I don't know why I expected a bit more singing, given that in last season they pretty much did the same thing.
Okay, I'm sorry but whoever had Mayko Nguyen run while practically engulfed by that huge ass coat and turtleneck is insane. Yes, I understand that the cold is an issue but the choice of clothes really doesn't work and how is she expected to run in these?
New guy knows how to command Rex in two seconds? And Rex listens to him? I don't know how I feel about that.
The scene of Jesse at the bar interchanging with the scene of Sarah chasing the guy works well, way better than if the scene with Jesse at the bar would work if it played on its own.
"That was an incredibly stupid thing to do". You can still throw a glass of water at him, Sarah.
Mark was the name of one of Rex's partners on Kommissar Rex. I'm sure it's a pure coincidence here, though.
Rex: *shakes paw with new guy* me: Traitor. (Just kidding. Rex is the best boy.)
"No one wants to be Garfunkel". What the hell are you talking about???

By the way.

"He's not waking up on his own. Time to employ my secret method."
I initially thought that the code blue was for Stella.
I think every single guest star in this episode aside from new guy has already guest starred on a previous episode of Hudson and Rex. And at least two of them had been guilty of one thing or another. I pay attention, show lol. To be fair, it's okay to bring back an actor from S1 to play another role as it's pretty clear that we've exhausted the actor pool of Newfoundland and maybe even Canada.
me: I don't hate new guy. New Guy: *strolls in the SJPD cafeteria wearing S3 Charlie's wardrobe* me:
Sarah said "my partner Charlie" and I'm almost sure new guy took that professionally. Sarah, speak. (Although, to be fair, I didn't get a flirty vibe from him, and obviously not from Sarah.)
"Family business". Almost sounds like Charlie is a Winchester.
"Rex likes you". This only rubs me the wrong way because of the originals, I suppose. I don't detect any hints of actual "new guy" material (regarding the setup of the character) aside from being a temporary replacement, which I myself had detected that the show would need. The only reason it caught me off guard was because he appeared after so many episodes when the team was already missing Charlie for quite a bit.
Well, I did say in my last review post that I hoped Jesse got some. Why didn't anyone tease him about the kiss? He first mentioned that he didn't kiss the cod and then he said that they all sort of kissed the cod, he must have had to explain himself.
Amazon Prime product placement. Again.
Bisexual character alert. Uh-oh, there goes the episode on Up Faith and Family.
Stop sharing information with suspects that could lead them to go and finish off their victims!
"I heard you're feeling better. That's a real shame". lol
Nice trick with the wheelchair.
What in the actual hell is frisbee golf? Also, why all of a sudden no one wants to go to hear Jesse sing?
That episode thoroughly distracted me with Mark. I can't help wondering if they seriously at any point considered him as a replacement but honestly, the show is called Hudson and Rex. Replacing a dog is hard enough, I think if at any point John Reardon couldn't come back to the show, they'd just have to cancel it. Anything else would be some sort of delusion that maybe the production would go for but not CityTV, unless they're that desperate for Canadian content.
Promo: I haven't seen such a bland Hudson and Rex promo in a while. There's literally nothing for me to talk about.

Sorry you’ve been asked this repeatedly… but how is Concord, and many high-budget game cancellations, going to smoke up to investors/execs and change things? Will investors en masse just start pulling out of games industry altogether? I see you repost Today on Steam sometimes and market over-saturation seems like an actual crisis at this point.
I mean, you're exactly right. I don't understand how investors are sticking around anymore. You talk about market over-saturation and something that has spooked me for years is just how many publishers give away games or at least put them on deep discount.
Like, EGS, right. In three years they have given away almost 450 games. They give away so many games for free that I've actually stopped paying attention because it's clear I'm rarely using the client. But I've never given them a penny, and my 4-year-old EGS library is already one third the size of my 20 year old Steam library.
Now, you could say that's because Epic is burning the candle at both ends trying to shake Valve's market lead, but we could also talk about something like, say, Twitch Prime. I get a low income discount on Amazon Prime, so I get free shipping, Prime Video, and Twitch Prime for like $5 a month.
And Twitch Prime includes free games every month, right? Normally that's through some kind of terrible Amazon App for Windows, something both Twitch and Amazon seem to bury given I've never seen a download link anywhere in my entire life. Even if I knew where to download, I wouldn't do it, given I'm sure it's loaded full of tracking and telemetry. But on top of the usual Amazon App games, they've also started including keys for games on EGS and GOG.
So for $5 a month I've been getting 5-10 games on three different storefronts, including ones I'm actually going to install and play games through. And games I actually want to play, too, like Industria (GOG), Arcade Paradise (GOG), Loop Hero (EGS), Ghost Song (GOG), Shredder's Revenge (EGS), etc.
On top of the 2-3 games EGS normally gives away per month, on top of whatever else may be happening elsewhere. GOG may be giving away its own free game as part of a sale promo, for instance. So if we're talking annually, I pay $60 a year for Twitch Prime for roughly 144 games all put together. If you subtract Prime, that's still probably over 30 games a year, totally free.
And then you figure out places like Humble and Fanatical, entire storehouses that specialize in very cheap bundles.
At some point it's not even "for gamers on a budget." This is just the way the industry is now. Even games that sell well will plummet in price and end up in bundles or even just get given away for free. Deathloop, Outer Worlds, Evil Within 2, Plague Tale, Dragon Age Inquisition, Midnight Suns, Callisto Protocol, Arkham Knight, Control, Nioh, Prey...
I did not pay a penny for these games, but I own them. A consumer is very happy with that but it does not seem like a sign of a healthy industry. That is money being spent and spent and spent and spent, but it's not going back in to develop new games. It feels like this industry is hanging by the thread of FOMO alone, because if you can wait a year, maybe two, either you'll get a game straight up for free, or at least for 75-80% off.
Who would actually invest in an industry that has been bleeding so violently for so many years?

"And all he had to do was go to one show"
Anon, this deal isn't with him. His publicist is opportunistic and trying to wrest as much personal PR out of this for him as possible - but the real deal wasn't with TK, it was with the NFL. They want promo for their games, their merch, their players. They want to pull in female fans. This blog has already covered the promotional deal that was made to air commercials for Taylor's movie during the strike, and some other possible business connections, with Amazon Prime, a sports merch company, and others.
TK isn't the dealbroker in this. He's the puppet. This is why Pia is so tacky all the time. She's grabbing what she can get as the opportunities arise. IMO.
I do think he is fully involved in the deal too though. His podcast, his documentary, his name brand for post-retirement opportunities- those are all part of this deal. He is the one who is talking about her left, right and center.

Would you know why Nick was allowed to post a lot of pics of IDOY ( I counted nearly 40 considering around 4 posts and 10 pics each) but could hardly post of rwrb? I assumed since both are under Amazon they'd have the same restrictions but perhaps not ( though I don't understand where the difference lies) .. he said he can't post pics of him in costume but I don't think any of the IDOY pics he's posted during filming were in costume either .. they were all random cast and crew pics out of costume (maybe some of the tattoos).. so I was wondering why it was different for rwrb
I... don't know. I mean when thinking on how to answer this I was trying to make some educated guess, but I realized I was running into walls.
I get why Amazon/Prime would put so much effort on the press and promo for TIOY: you got it being a book adaptation, you got the star power with Nick and Anne (and 1D/Harry Styles to a certain extent), you got the tried and true formula of a heterosexual rom-com, you got the trope of an older woman with a younger man that's certain going to attract a certain big demographic, so at least on the surface, it's a winning formula, so they went out with the promo, including Nick posting about it. I think a little more about it might be the costume: Hayes, as a celebrity, wears essentially want Nick already wears, it's not that distinct, as opposed to Henry who's a freaking prince.
But my question is I have no freaking idea how Amazon/Prime view RWRB. You would think they would hold it in high regard, somewhat equally to TIOY. And look at what they did for marketing, with the book quest, premieres, karaoke bus, fan screening, character Instagrams and stuff. You can say that yeah, they did see it as an important project, and did a lot with marketing/promotion (or at least what they could do with the strike going on) to hype it up more.
But then we come to the question of production: As much as I love it and as much as it's minor, there are some meh green screens (see all the new reports and the DNC, heck in the DNC wide shot, it's literally just models, the "Alex" figure is still), and Matthew was told it was overperforming, meaning the expectations weren't that high. I tried to search for the exact number for the budget of the movie, but couldn't, and realized that streaming media doesn't calculate profit the way theatre releases do because there's no "box office".
I think I went off a tangent? Anyways, back to your question, why couldn't Nick post RWRB photos? Well, if we say that RWRB was seen as an important project, then my best guess is that by keeping set and behind-the-scenes and costumed photos secret, they can build up hype by keeping the audience hooked, willing to wait and check for updates to see more. My other guess is that they wanted to use some of the photos Nick took as promotional material themselves: if you look at the photos posted on the official rwrb Instagram page around September to October, there are a lot of behind-the-scenes/set photos, that wouldn't look to out of place if it was in one of the cast member's phone gallery. The selfie of Nick/Henry with Taylor's atrocious plastic yellow sunglasses was definitely from Nick's phone. I briefly thought on the negative side if they didn't care about rwrb, maybe they just didn't give a damn or something, but upon further inspection that doesn't make sense. Even if they underestimate the movie, it doesn't make sense for them to hoard photos. (which is also why I cannot for the life of me understand why their hoarding the deleted scenes when there are clearly so many)
...so apparently I can't answer a question without it turning into an essay WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME

I put it down to being animated voice over work instead of live action filming. Plus, lack of any in person press to see how he looks, what he's wearing, etc. ///
You know I've been thinking about this. Will we have to wait till the Red One premiere (whenever that happens) for an official red carpet appearance from him? He doesn't even go to any industry events like many of his contemporaries attend. I mean it's not like they're starved for money or roles but they still make an effort to get dressed and network. He just seems so boring all of a sudden. Maybe Amazon Prime will send him to present at a few awards shows next year with the Rock for some early Red One promo.
If you were going to lay down a bet on it, then I'd probably only make a bet on a Red One "premiere" as a possible red carpet appearance. I think you'd be far more likely to see Dwayne attend events to promote the movie. I'm sure he'll fulfill the press obligations in his contract, but that might only include the more traditional interviews. I think that last "ancillary" appearance he did at the MTV Awards for TGM might be the last thing like that he does; he did not appear happy to do it.

I like the breakdown in the Deadline article. They pointed out that Challengers had the 2nd biggest opening of an R-rated romantic drama since the pandemic, second only to Don't Worry Darling which debuted to $19.4M. That movie mobilized Harry Styles hardcore stans and it was a mystery thriller. Challengers is not that. And many of the articles compare it to Saltburn which also has the homoerotic elements, creative visuals, catchy music, morally dubious protagonists, popular young cast while also being considered artsy with its Oscar winning writer-director and cast full of Oscar nominees and winners. Challengers already made more domestically and globally in 1 weekend than Saltburn made throughout its entire run. Deadline also breaks down how much money was spent on TV advertising (which is generally the most expensive item in promo budgets). It was $4.3M which is not a lot. The promo tour of Challengers got a lot of visibility because Z leaned heavily on her fashion card and was able to do stuff like getting the covers of the American and British Vogue, have a spread in the NY Times and get all the fashion and entertainment accounts to cover her. Amazon didn't have to pay for that coverage and they didn't even pay for the international premieres (which were not huge events, but allowed Z to make an impression), only for the LA one
Overall what we have to consider is what would be the box office if the movie if Z was replaced by a good but relatively unknown actress. First it's highly likely that the movie would not even get a wide release and would be limited to a few art house theatres and would not reach $5M globally through its whole run. So already the presence of Z made a $20M difference. And for Amazon another big aspect regarding profitability is how well it does on Prime and Zs popularity will also help in getting people to watch it there
https://deadline.com/2024/04/box-office-challengers-zendaya-1235896116/
I think all of that is mostly true. I do think the thought from some on the other side that the movie got so much press because Z and so therefore it should have seen more of a bump from that, but to your point I'm not sure that this film gets a widespread release without her in the first place.
Don't Worry Darling had Harry Styles, but there was also so much drama around the production and Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh that I think it had initial interest because of that and then kind of flamed out afterwards.

Lost - and Found! - in a Loop
*** spoilers (I guess, probably) ***
Good job this isn't in anyway attempting to be a timely look at cultural phenomena because this movie landed on Amazon Prime in Feb 2021. (And I discovered, in the Lev Grossman interview linked down near the bottom of this piece, was one of the many productions impacted - in this case, shortened - by the 2020 pandemic.)
Is being timely important for a time loop movie? Okay, clearly facetious question since the answer will be NO for the characters other than, I guess, there would be Better and Worse days in history to be trapped in, but YES for the production, for practical reasons - like, COVID, above - but also for zeitgeist reasons.
This was the movie's Twitter campaign BTW - super cute - it's a time loop movie - every day's the same day! - sort of.
On the subject of timeliness -
Sort of a segue but I was listening earlier to Richard Osman and Marina Hyde discussing the summer's Strictly Come Dancing scandal on The Rest is Entertainment. One factor they covered was that generally it's very unusual for Big Shows to last twenty years and that Strictly has achieved this by changing what it's like as a show, in line with the times, fashions, assumptions etc also changing.
Specifically for Strictly, that has involved the level of difficulty and skill increasing massively. Marina quoted a piece from Michael Hogan in The Guardian that identified that S1 of the show saw a single 10 given by the judges while in S19, there were 69 10s, not because the judges are softer but because the standard of dancing performance has risen - and the toll on participants has risen along with it.
She linked that to a general rise in intensity, perfectionism, and performance pressure - and the driving out of fun - even in supposedly amateur contexts. Feedback loop to social media, ofc.
Well that's incidentally a nice reverse segue back to this movie, because this movie is a sweet celebration of low-key, unimportant magic moments. A love story between the MCs that is also / somewhat / mostly a love story to enjoyment of the everyday.
I'm not saying the movie itself is amateurish (it's not) but it's two teenagers hanging out in small town America. There's no saving the world, there's no super-hero antics, and there's no magic escape from everyday tragedies, either - the lost job, the parent with cancer.
There IS some quantum physics babble and some blurred logic (like, is it okay to take someone else's future hostage? - even if you didn't do it intentionally - just because you're super sad and it would be nice to have someone to help you go through the grieving*?)
*this is, I think, the most cynical possible take - a less cynical version being that the universe somehow figured out that these two were made for each other and held onto HIM until SHE was ready to let go of her difficult day and move forward. Arguably, IRL, she wouldn't have had the choice because time DOESN'T conveniently loop just because someone wishes hard enough that it would - or maybe it does, but not for me... I can understand how someone who has experienced that exact thing would want to stay quiet about it.
The point is - best not to get too Hard Science critical, but taking the story on its own terms, I liked it. And *especially* the shift in emphasis from his story to hers in the final act of the movie.
Here's a review by a real film critic - they also seemed to like it:
The movie was written and I think exec produced by SF writer Lev Grossman, who gave a nice interview about getting it made (below).
He also cameoed in the movie as "rescued from bird poop" guy - and talks charmingly about his experience of being in front of the camera as a little anecdote at the end of the same interview.
BTW having seen that the clothes in the promo poster were the same ones as the Lev Grossman scene, I wondered briefly about whether I'd forgotten the two MCs wearing the same clothes all the time. Flicked back to Amazon. They didn't! Then, ofc, I realised that it would have been weird if they did. The entire point was that they were the only two people making different choices during the course of that single day. What simpler visual cue for us than changing the clothes they're wearing on different versions of that same day?
Amusing (to me) side note - I tried to tell one of my lecturers about this movie and he was HORRIFIED by the cuteness of the central concept, that the key to the time loop dilemma was linked in a non-metaphorical way to the movie's title. I didn't and don't find that horrifying or disappointing but rather charming and a little delightful. Oh, you smuggled the answer to the puzzle right there in front of me in the actual title and I feel comforted that your characters are taking joy and hope from small things like - little girls jumping after soap bubbles in the back yard or a sea eagle grabbing a fish from the lake. This is in keeping with our respective tastes (and, for all I know, our respective characters) and without question relates to whatever internal factors explain why he loves The Road and I love cosy things.

I don’t want 9 tracks on an album from Taylor. She has too much to say. But I DO want less from Taylor all at once. I was fed too much with TTPD, and it took a lot longer for me to come around on some really beautiful songs. So I have proposed my dream rollout.
If she has a 9/26 release:
Pre-release single 7/26 with music video + one live performance (can just be a tiktok live of her strumming her guitar). Announced via social media that Monday w motifs from the album a la rep. She posts on tiktok at least 3 times w: 1 grwm + 1 dumb challenge + 1 life update using the song.
8/12 an album is teased by different murals in 13 cities across the world with a WR to her website w the announcement that something is coming soon. 8/13 the album is announced. Pre-order standard edition.
IF the lead single has more of a fortnight reception than an Anti-Hero reception, the 2nd single released 8/22 + music video and a live performance (I want ROTY + SOTY for her, sue me). Announced via social media that Monday.
Week after Labor Day: she starts teasing the tracklist with videos on tiktok (not unlike midnights mayhem). Instead of the bingo balls + phone, she has postcards w a design of each track that can kind of hint at a theme/motif/vibe of the song. The postcard is posted to her Instagram story and saved as a highlight. There are between 13-15 standard tracks. You can pre-order 3 other physical copies. Each physical copy has a bonus song that won’t be available on streaming immediately and isn’t announced on TikTok.
September (general): 1 magazine interview.
After tracklist is announced she releases 3 13 song playlists of her songs that each fit a different facet of her new album. 1 is released each day. She announces each playlist on tiktok.
There are 13 more unique murals painted in 13 new cities.
Week of: Zane Lowe interview.
9/26 album release w either 2nd/3rd single + video. Fallon or Meyers interview. She performs on the show first, 2nd and maybe 3rd single. They’ll let her bc she’s Taylor swift.
Week after: hot ones or chicken shop date (a girl can dream!!!!)
11/7: 3rd/4th single but w a remix w a female artist that doesn’t make the remix bad. Idk the sonic vibe of the album so I can’t give a recommendation. Music video of course. Announced via social media that Monday.
November after Travis’ bye week and Grammy noms are announced: she releases something like she did w long pond / Ariana did with ES: get into a beautiful studio and sing each song on the album w a band (or can do acoustic) w a little story on a handful of the songs that weren’t addressed in the ZL interview and release to Disney + / Netflix / Amazon prime
Announced the Monday after the Grammys: the deluxe version with 5-8 new songs (thinking 19-21 total songs) w 1 last physical. All tracks available to stream. 1 mv for the single.
whoa you went all out! some of these ideas are cool concepts i could see happening. she's done lyrics in different cities worldwide before, so i could see her doing that again if this album is meant to have more promo. i also think a magazine interview, zane lowe, and maybe 1-2 late night show appearances are feasible if she desires. i've never watched hot ones or chicken shop dates, but i agree it would be fun if she did a silly interview we could all watch on youtube. my personal preference is good mythical morning (i'd kill for an episode of will It? or last meals)
as far as the singles go, i think she'll release a music video on release day. although the con is that we don't know anything about the sound until the day of, the pro is that we can listen to the entire work as a whole without certain songs feeling oversaturated. she's welcome to surprise me though. my final prediction is 1-3 singles (i lean towards a "lowkey era" somewhere in between folkmore and midnights/ttpd levels of promo)
i, too, can see the standard being 13-15 tracks. to me, that's a typical taylor length i'm fine with. it's the whacky 6-10 track nonsense on twitter and tiktok that i find strange because she's a storyteller. let her speak! hahaha. there will be a deluxe for sure, but i don't agree with waiting months to release those tracks. releasing them hours or even several days apart is fine. i don't see an added benefit of drawing things out, especially since deluxe songs could help her campaign by giving the era a fuller picture
another film like folklore long pond would be such a treat. i'm always down to learn more about her creative process - the inspirations, the aesthetics, the editing process, the recruitment of collaborators. performing somewhere like a coffee shop or in a park would be a perfect cozy release for the fall/winter
thanks for sending me your thoughts. i like seeing what other fans come up with!

Boycott This
As I have said before, I am an equal opportunity critic. I proudly claim my position in the middle of the political spectrum, weighing the pros and cons of candidates, and then selecting the one I think will inflict the least harm. Maybe that’s a bit negative by default, but I just can’t seem to find one whom I think is all rainbows and unicorns.
Unless you have been on a remote island without wifi, the last couple of years have been rocky for US marketers. We all know what happened in April 2023, when Bud Light partnered with trans activist Dylan Mulvaney. A massive boycott ensued, which found Bud Light’s market share dropping from the number one spot at 12%, down to 6.4%, which put it in third behind Modelo and Michelob Ultra. Bud Light has rebounded somewhat since then, thanks in part because of a massive ad spend and promos with pro and college football, but the damage was done, at least for now.
In fact, this is the biggest and longest boycott impact I have seen since I started researching such things nearly 15 years ago. Usually, boycotts start out with a lot of bluster, and then fade within six months as consumers return to their normal habits.
Target, as we have also discussed, felt the sting of boycotting a couple of months later with its Pride Month merchandise. The company has foundered ever since, but not just because of its product selection. Inflation also caused the store to be out of many customers’ price range, and Target share prices have dropped 11% thus far in 2025.
But then things started getting a little bit weird last week. There was a 24-hour economic impact championed by the Left, including Target, Amazon, Walmart, and practically every major corporation someone—I have no idea who started this social media-driven campaign—deemed to be evil.
But wait, there’s more. Much more.
Because Target ditched its DEI initiatives, a 40-day Target boycott started on the 5th of this month. And then John Schwarz, the founder of The People's Union USA, announced a one-week boycott yesterday of Amazon and all of its various companies, including Zappos, Ring, Whole Foods, Twitch, and Prime Video.
I have one word to say about this spate of boycotting: Whatever. Actually, I uttered a barnyard epithet that is something you don’t want to step in. I think you get my point.
Personally, I am getting a little tired of all this, regardless of whether the boycott comes from the Left or Right. I am too much of a capitalist, meaning I embrace the concept of self-interest, to be bothered. I was disappointed last summer when Tractor Supply scrapped its DEI program, but it didn’t keep me from shopping there. In fact, I bought some things there last week.
And why do I keep shopping there? Because they deliver value to me. Yes, “value” is a subjective construct, which can be derived from competitive prices, convenience, product selection, service, and more. Since I live in the country, I get a lot of things at Tractor Supply that I need for my property. I have neither the time nor desire to find another source.
What I find really interesting is the social media comments on all of these news items. I scroll them for entertainment value. With people on the Left now boycotting Target, Amazon, et al., people on the Right are saying they are now going to shop at Target. No, really. These are the same people who trashed the place—some literally destroying in-store displays and harassing employees—saying they will now gladly give them their money.
Why, I bet some of them might now be open to buying an EV without posting that trite laughing face emoji they are so wont to do. Climate change? Sure thing. Wind turbines and solar farms? Bring ‘em, if the Left is boycotting whomever makes them. If the Left started boycotting Anheuser-Busch, you might start seeing working class beer drinkers sipping from blue cans again.
Oh my. This really has spun out of control. For all that is good and proper, everybody…please reach down and untwist whatever it is you're wearing. Can we please try to get along a little better?
A big part of the problem is that collectively we have allowed our emotions to hold sway over many aspects of our lives. Maybe it’s just too hard to think rationally when our country has fractured into polar opposite belief systems. I know. Shopping with a conscience is some people’s mantra. My conscience is located in my wallet, not my heart or anywhere else.
I remember my mother always telling me never to bite off my nose to spite my face. It’s one of those rural Appalachian idioms she was so good for. It’s just as true today. If you derive value from Amazon, Target, Walmart, or whomever, then just shop there. You really aren’t hurting them. You are hurting yourself. The same goes for the people who gave up the beer they loved all because Bud Light became linked to a transgender. Sure, that may have been a hard swig to swallow, but once again, those people sacrificed value.
I also remember a couple of decades ago some family friends visiting from the north. They were and still are staunch conservative Christians, and the man had a worn folded sheet of paper in his billfold listing all the companies, from consumer packaged goods to restaurants, that supported Planned Parenthood. By golly, they weren’t going to spend one nickel with them. Too bad, because there were some good things on that list.
Things were much simpler then, weren’t they?
You may disagree with my rather agnostic view of things. It is not so much because these things are unknowable. It’s because I don’t want to know. I just want good products and services, and if you are Right, Left, straight, gay, or trans, I don’t care. I don’t care if your CEO is a gazillionaire. If I were in the market for an EV right now, I would consider a Tesla, even though I am not a fan of Musk’s chainsaw economics.
And I am tired of all these shopworn boycotts. When you come down off your virtue signaling high horse, you’ll probably just go back to doing whatever it is you were doing. Even Bud Light drinkers, and former Target shoppers who are now driven to return because the tide has gone out to sea.
Just spend your money wisely. That sends the loudest message.

WWE Money in the Bank (July 2024)
Last week, WWE unveiled a fun new partnership as the organization teamed up with Amazon to cross-promote the new season of The Boys by loaning out WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes to build up the return of the Supes from Vought International. Last night, The Boys returned the favor by appearing across the WWE premium live event, Money in the Bank, which took place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario. Earlier in the week, Rhodes appeared in a promo for the series, wearing Homelander's (Antony Starr) iconic cape in a nod to some dedicated wrestling fans who would undoubtedly have gotten a kick from the reference. Rhodes, the pro wrestling sensation, gets compared to Homelander from The Boys for several reasons that are as entertaining as they are spot-on. Homelander is that all-American superhero who's got more issues than a soap opera. He looks like the poster boy for patriotism, but underneath, he's manipulative, power-hungry, and about as stable as a Jenga tower in an earthquake. Cody, on the other hand, has a history of strutting around with a mix of heroism and ego that would make even the most seasoned narcissist blush. He’s all about his legacy and accomplishments, sometimes sounding like he’s his own biggest fan club. They both rock the red, white, and blue and the short blond look. [...] The match was advertised by a surprise promo from Vought CEO Ashley Barrett, while the Vought logo was plastered all over the show. The company even reached out to the winner of the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match, Drew McIntyre, to offer their congratulations. Sadly for McIntyre, his attempt to cash in the contract within his briefcase was thwarted later that evening by CM Punk, with whom he has been feuding since January. The crossover was also notable given that WWE is heading to Netflix, a direct competitor of Prime Video, but ultimately, nobody was hurt by this, proving that if it entertains the audience, companies will continue to do what's best for business. WWE Money in the Bank is available to watch now on Peacock, while The Boys airs on Prime Video. Source: Collider

Is this is a Kansas City football player? (None of us non-Americans know who this guy is supposed to be, sorry. Everyone in American football is a complete non-entity to us.)
I was just thinking, isn't Karlie a football fan? A fan of this team? Maybe she's friends with his mom, and wants to help get eyeballs on the league.
Or maybe it's a business decision of Taylor's to promote the NFL. Didn't she give them the exclusive of Ready For It during the Rep era? Aren't they the organizers of the SuperBowl? IDK, just seems like there's some connection there that predates this recent narrative. If Matty Healy was a prior commitment she had to pivot away from, maybe she owes the NFL promo too? Maybe she ducked out of Superbowl to focus on the Eras Tour, and this was the price?
I don't know, I'm just thinking. I don't think it matters anyway, it's a very low key stunt and I don't expect we'll get more than Taylor showing up at a couple of games and letting people talk, before it all fades away again. Honestly, given the chaotic energy she's rocking lately, I wouldn't even be shocked if she brought Karlie along to the next game 😂
We do not know him here either, anon.
Why is it so hard for people to see the Amazon Prime connection? It is so obvious what this is about. 🤑💰

Hi Nancy! Just wanted your take on this - I know you’ve probably touched on this a while ago, but for the life of me I can’t remember. Regarding Red One - Amazon hasn’t given a release date have they? I ask because I was watching something on Prime last night and saw a trailer for an Eddie Murphy Christmas movie (done by prime). That movies set to release on 12/10 it looks like. So I’m curious about whether red one would release this Christmas too? Plus if they’re putting out teasers/trailers for that Christmas movie, couldn’t they do the same for RO? Thoughts?
As far as I can tell, and other people I talk to can tell, no, Prime has not set a release date for Red One yet. And, yes, several of us were having discussions about how this Eddie Murphy holiday movie already has a release date and is seeming to get early promo, including a trailer. It's leading some of us to assume that Prime has pushed Red One back to 2024 due to the effects of the SAG strike on current filming and scheduling. However, this is all just our assumptions at play.
